You wanted it, so you’ve got it! The winning tune from our Sakura Symphony vote is プラチナ [Purachina] “Platinum” (the 3rd Opening).
This “after-school special”-esque tune by Yoko Kanno and performed by Maaya Sakamoto is perhaps the most popular within in the CCS fandom. Thanks to all who watched, shared, and enjoyed our tribute to the music of Cardcaptor Sakura!
Next week, we’ll be announcing the theme to our next performance season: Season III!
After gathering more than 100 votes from fans on social media, we’re happy to announce Cardcaptor Sakura as this season’s big anime orchestral tribute! Join us this winter as our orchestra plays through the magical soundtracks by Takayuki Negishi from all three seasons of the anime – Catch You Catch Me, Sakura’s Theme, プラチナ [Platinum], and many more! We’ll also hold a special CCS concert for our New York fans to watch it live!
And don’t worry fans of InuYasha and Saint Seiya, we’ll also do a tribute to both series in the future!
We take a break in our usual schedule to tribute one of the legendary composers who left our lives this year. James Horner was a true musical genius, crafting melodies and soundscapes for Titanic, Aliens, Avatar, and most recently Southpaw. Bobbie offers this cello tribute to Horner’s works for animated movies The Pagemaster, An American Tail, The Land Before Time, and Balto.
We miss you dearly and hope to see you again in that big somewhere out there …
Thank you all the donors and supporters who helped bring SERASYMPHONY to Los Angeles! We had an even bigger turnout in the lovely Zipper Concert Hall at The Colburn School! Actress and avid Sailor Moon fan Julie Zhan was our guest moderator and MC. She brought charm, sass, and so much energy to the panel discussion about the creation of SERASYMPHONY and its future – VIP guests couldn’t get enough. And let us tell you about the amazing cosplayers who came dressed in their finest!

We add so much to the program, extending the concert to just over 2 hours of Moonie music! Violin soloist Christina Bouey and composer-pianist Yasuhiko Fukuoka returned for the III. Super concerto movement and surprised audiences with a splendid encore! But perhaps the biggest crowd-pleaser was the appearance by original dub songstress Jennifer Cihi who joined us for our DiC music medley! Even having originated these tunes 20 years ago, Cihi has not lost her touch and it a master of the stage! Fans were in awe of her matured interpretation of classics “Carry On,” “The Power of Love,” and “My Only Love. We will definitely be performing with her again very soon!
