Originally conceived as a video tribute celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary, the chamber orchestra concert features music from the 1992 Japanese anime, the first American dub, and the 2014 Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon series.
Reuniting at this homecoming performance are conductor/arranger Bobbie Lee Crow III, piano soloist Yasuhiko Fukuoka, and violin soloist Annette Homann. Jennifer Cihi – the original American singing voice of Sailor Moon – will make a special appearance accompanied by a mixed choral ensemble.
VIP tickets include prime orchestra seats and invitations to a pre-concert panel discussion with the soloists.
Thank you all the donors and supporters who helped bring SERASYMPHONY to Los Angeles! We had an even bigger turnout in the lovely Zipper Concert Hall at The Colburn School! Actress and avid Sailor Moon fan Julie Zhan was our guest moderator and MC. She brought charm, sass, and so much energy to the panel discussion about the creation of SERASYMPHONY and its future – VIP guests couldn’t get enough. And let us tell you about the amazing cosplayers who came dressed in their finest!

We add so much to the program, extending the concert to just over 2 hours of Moonie music! Violin soloist Christina Bouey and composer-pianist Yasuhiko Fukuoka returned for the III. Super concerto movement and surprised audiences with a splendid encore! But perhaps the biggest crowd-pleaser was the appearance by original dub songstress Jennifer Cihi who joined us for our DiC music medley! Even having originated these tunes 20 years ago, Cihi has not lost her touch and it a master of the stage! Fans were in awe of her matured interpretation of classics “Carry On,” “The Power of Love,” and “My Only Love. We will definitely be performing with her again very soon!
Next stop: Atlanta on September 27th! Hope to see you there!!
We ended our inaugural season with MiLESTONES: A Concert of Anime, Cartoon, and Video Games Anniversaries at the Loreto Theater in The Sheen Center. So many nostalgic shows reached their 15th, 20th, and 30th marks so we though it best to pay tribute to each one of them as well as our own one year anniversary!
Our 13-piece chamber orchestra performed music from Batman: The Animated Series, Intelligent Qube, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, The Simpsons, Super Mario Bros., and more in this 90-minute concert. Audience members were entertained by our video interludes which features members of the group talking about their memories of playing and/or watching their favorite animated shows & games!
Thank you to everyone who attended and all who’ve supported this ensemble along the way! We cannot wait to share everything we’ve got planned for our 2015-16 season!
