Take a musical voyage to the Grand Line in salute to One Piece for its 20th anniversary! The chamber orchestra concert will feature iconic music from the series by Kohei Tanaka, Shiro Hamaguchi, and Shouko Fujibayashi. Presented in Mary Flager Cary Hall, Lower Level of The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

Produced and presented by IconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra, One Piece One Million Fans, and The Senpai Project.

“One Piece: A 20th Anniversary Orchestral Tribute” is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra presents its first musical cafe dedicated to the cutest spellcasters in the world: magical girls! Featuring a team of talented magical maids serving light desserts and beverages while a chamber orchestra performs music from Cutie Honey, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Pretty Cure, Cardcaptor Sakura, and more!

Admission includes the price of food and 1 non-alcoholic beverage plus a photo op with your maid. Most items also available for a la carte purchase. Concert-only tickets not available at this time.

iTSO with Lotus Juice and Taku Iwasaki

Sharing the Stage with Anime Music Stars

After a great start to Season III, we end 2016 on a high-note – paying tribute one of the most talented and prolific composer of music for shōnen anime, Taku Iwasaki, at Littlefield NYC in Brooklyn. And this time we were joined by the composer himself and the fantastic rapper Lotus Juice!

At our first composer’s concert, a trimmed down 10-piece iTSO invaded the unassuming Brooklyn music venue for a night of video-gaming and action-packed music. It was our first time collaborating with DJ LUNATiC who kept the crowd dancing to some of Iwasaki’s trance and hip-hop hits from Jormungand, C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility, and Heaven’s Memo Pad.

iTSO performed some of Iwasaki’s music from hit action series Akame ga Kill, Bungō Stray Dogs, Magic Kaito 1412, Kekkaishi, Noragami, and R.O.D. (Read or Die). Our special guest Lotus Juice joined us on stage for “Bahasa Palus” from Katanagatari, “Reverse the Destiny” from Persona -trinity soul-, “Psychedelic Souljam” from Soul Eater, and OVERDRIVE from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. This was our first collab with an anime industry fellow and Lotus certainly delivered with his signature flow, high-energy, and amazing stage presence! So many guest came just to see his first appearance in a New York venue.

But an even bigger surprise was the appearance of the composer himself! Iwasaki joined us for a pre-show Q&A session and performed 3 pieces on stage as an encore, including “Quiet Life” from Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal with our ensemble as backing musicians. Lotus and Iwasaki performed “Portrait of Love,” an original by Lotus that we helped arrange for the evening!

We hope to present more of these composer concerts with the input and talent of the composers themselves in the future. Thank you all for coming and though our shōnen tributes for this season are over, don’t miss our upcoming magical shōjo concerts in NYC and San José!

PRESS RELEASE: ‘Sailor Moon’ Concert Returns to NYC

NEW YORK, NY – April 17, 2016 – SERASYMPHONY: Sailor Moon Symphony, the fan made orchestral tribute to Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon returns to New York City, Sunday, July 3, 7pm at Roulette.

Originally conceived as a video tribute celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary, SERASYMPHONY features music and songs from the 1992 anime and 2014 reboot performed by a live orchestra. IconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra debuted the concert in 2014 to a sold-out crowd in New York City. Reuniting at this concert are conductor and arranger Bobbie Lee Crow III, violinist Annette Homann, pianist Yasuhiko Fukuoka, and singer Jennifer Cihi – the original American singing voice of Sailor Moon – who first performed with the ensemble in Los Angeles in 2015.

Best known for her work in the 1995 North American Sailor Moon dub by DiC Kids, Cihi has performed her signature songs such as “Carry On,” “My Only Love,” and “The Power of Love” at major conventions including Anime Expo, MTAC, and Malta Comics Expo in Europe. During this performance, she will perform a medley of North American music and premiere a new composition inspired by Sailor Moon Crystal with a mixed choir.

SERASYMPHONY: Sailor Moon Symphony will be performed at Roulette located at 509 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217 on Sunday, July 3. Tickets are $25 for general seating, $20 for students, and $45 for premium seats. VIP tickets are available include entry to a pre-concert panel with Jennifer Cihi.
